Amanda is a board-certified Aerospace Physiologist whose work has focused on how human physiology, cognition, training, equipment, and operational demands combine to influence performance and safety.
Her experience spans Naval Aviation, developmental flight test, operational aviation, aerospace-medicine research, aviation mishap investigation, and human performance in extreme environments. She has supported high-consequence organizations where design choices, training quality, and human limitations have direct mission consequences.
Operational and technical experience
Her background includes aerospace physiology and survival training, spatial-disorientation research and mitigation, emergency egress, human-systems integration, physiological-event investigation, aircrew performance, and operational risk. At NASA Johnson Space Center, she contributed to human-performance research supporting the demands of long-duration exploration missions.
Professional leadership
Amanda is a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association and has held leadership roles across aerospace medicine, aerospace physiology, and space-medicine professional organizations. Her published and invited work has emphasized operational physiology, spatial disorientation, survival training, emergency egress, and modeling crew performance for human spaceflight.
